Dr. Hugo Gonzalez Villasanti is an assistant professor in mechanical engineering and directs the PAL at the University of Michigan. His research focuses on stability analysis of dynamic techno-social systems. 

Tyler Nanoff

From Minneapolis Minnesota, Tyler is a Mechanical Engineering Ph.D. candidate passionate about using technology to make a difference. He is currently working on research involving an Instruction Support System aimed at helping teachers and neurodiverse students in underserved preschools. His goals focus on bridging gaps and leveling the playing field, creating solutions that make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most. Other areas he is interested in and work on are Prisoner Education, Environmental Sustainability, and Space and Vehicle Technology.

Muhannad Alkaddour

Muhannad is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering with the University of Michigan, in the People-Centered Autonomy Lab with Dr. Hugo Gonzalez Villasanti. His current research interests are in dynamical systems, control theory, and robotics, and all as they pertain to human-centered applications. Specifically,  he is interested in leveraging the tools of dynamical and control theory to better understand complex problems in socio-(technical, ecological, and economical) systems, and collaborating with researchers in adjacent domains.

Isaac is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering with the University of Michigan, in the People-Centered Autonomy Lab with Dr. Hugo Gonzalez Villasanti, co-advised with Dr. Kira Barton and Dr. K. Alex Shorter
